Plan: Run 25 mins Actual: Run 25 mins I finally made a decision and I got the Polar S625X. After a lot of deliberation, I went with the Polar because of it's better accurancy and consistency. The ability to map my runs with the GPS-based Forerunner was a very minor benefit.
I went running with it for the first time and I got a bit of a shock. I thought I was running at a 10-min/mile pace, but instead, I'm actually at a 12-min/mile pace. At least now I have something I can work with as I improve. I haven't installed the Polar software as yet as I'm still waiting for the infrared device so that I can transfer data, but I'm looking forward to be able to analyse each of my runs and to actually see the improvement.
