Half-Marathon Distance Training Run

Today I had a 13-mile run scheduled.  I couldn’t go that far and not make it a half-marathon distance of 13.1 miles.

It turned out to be a great run.  I did the 13.1 miles in 2:10:14 which works out to a 9:57 min/mile pace.  Any run 10 miles and more than I can run in under a 10 min/mile pace is a good run.

Last week was a bit of a downer as I struggled with my shorter runs, but I’m starting this week feeling great.  Let’s hope the rest of the week goes just as great.  I’m due to run 39 miles this week, but I’ll probably squeeze in a bit extra each run so I can make it a 40-mile week.

Congrats! Hey, I saw the link for this on Running Ahead. I have the same goal, hope to see you in Hopkinton in 2009 or (with luck) 2008!

It wouldn’t be any sooner than 2009! I’ll be 40 then so the qualifying time drops to 3:20.

40 miles…I hope to reach that too. That’s a great number!
