No More Training Plan Generator
Those of you that used my training plan generator to create training plans will notice that they are no longer available. I was contacted by Hal Higdon who requested that I remove his Spring Training plan I had on my website. I have removed it, and to avoid any future issues with the Pftizinger plans, I have also removed those.

Ouch! I guess you at least got contacted from a running legend. Maybe you can post the email.
Thankfully I downloaded my pfitzinger training plan a few days ago. I am not sure it is a good thing though… it is alot of running!

Well, I thank you for making it available. It has been a valuable and easy to use resource and really beat referring to my Pfitzinger book as I trained for my marathon this Sunday. Truely, I think you should offer Pftizinger and Higdon your tool as it’s vastly superior than anything I’ve seen.
As an aside, i think it’s ridicious they’d ask you to take it down — i bought the Pftizinger book and Hidgon for a previous marathon.

Hi Derek,
Oh no!
I was just going to start fiddling with dates and whether I should do a 12/18, 55/70. I thought your plan generator left off enough details/information that it was impossible to use without buying the book. Once you buy the book it becomes a useful tool. Do you think you’ll put it back online … ?

I have sent an email to Pete Pfitzinger to see if I can get permission to have his plans on my site. I got an auto-response that he will have limited email access for this week. Maybe he would respond over the weekend or early next week.
Alternatively, I also offered to provide him with the code so he can host it on http://www.pfitzinger.com or whereever he chooses.
Unless I get his permission, I don’t see being able to reinstate his plans without opening up myself to lawsuits and I can’t afford that.

Your Plan Generator is a great tool; they’d be smart to incorporate it into pfitzinger.com!

Great news. I heard back from Pete Pfitzinger and he’s given me permission to publish up to 3 of his plans. I’ve selected 2 of the 55-mile plans and one of the 70-mile plans. I hope this would satisfy most users out there.
